2. My son was diagnosed at the age of 6 - and my husband at the age of 42. My son is now 12 and my husband 44.  Does adhd affect your life - yes in every way - I found that turning to God was my salvation to coping.  A year ago I had my 19 year old also diagnosed with adhd - My daughter whom is 9 years old and I are the only ones in the house who are not adhd - It's like living in the twlight zone sometimes - you may be too young to remember that show -

3.  The positive aspects is the fact the the three men in my life have a very high IQ and are very sensitive in nature.  Most men  do not have these qualities.

4.  The hardest thing is the memory - you tell them something and it's like telling the wall - you have to journal for them or teach them how to so they can organize themselves - I'm telling you they are a breed all of their own.  I have had to read and reread book to understand why they are so unorganized and compulsive - being without adhd it is hard to understand their thinking - reading about it helps to coop.

5.  we us ritalin for all three.

6.  Ritalin is very effective - if given in the right dosage for the individual

7.  I have learned a great deal about others and really appreciate the gifts they have and also the ones God has blessed me with - like my husband tells me all the time "I don't know how you put up with us"  - it takes a great deal of love and patience.

Thankyou sooo much for your help. I appreciate everything all the info you gave me, it will help me out so much.
